土佐文旦は皮が硬くて手で剥けない。仕方なく包丁で切ったら皮が厚い。これでも皮が剥けないので四分の一に切った。一番外側が外果皮、その内側の白いところが内果皮。内果皮が厚いのだ。中の袋を瓤嚢（じょうのう）、その膜を瓤嚢膜（じょうのうまく）というのだが、内果皮と分けるのに手間がかかる。果肉が分けられればよいので、内果皮を綺麗に剥がす必要はない。手古摺りながら食べるのが意外と楽しい。
Pericarp of Tosa pomelo is hard, it is impossible to peel by hand. When cut into two the pomelo with a kitchen knife, it can be seen the pericarp is thicker. Cut into quarter because this does not peel off the pericarp. Outermost is epicarp, the inside white part is endocarp. Epicarp is thick. Say the bag in the citrus fruit segment, its membrane called segment membrance, cumbersome and to separate and segment membrance and endocarp. The inside of the bag is called the citrus fruit segment and the bag is called the segment membrane. Since the flesh is divided, endocarp is not necessary to cleanly peeled off. Time-consuming work to divide the segment membrane and endocarp. It is unexpectedly enjoyable to eat bother.
