堀留児童公園旧東堀留川 Horidome children's park formerly Higashi-horidome river ― 2015年04月12日 09時39分50秒
堀留児童公園は、戦後東堀留川が瓦礫で埋め立てられた。江戸時代1850年の地図では北端が今の日本橋消防署堀留出張所辺りである。ウィキペディアによれば、昔は不忍池まで繋がっていて、それを横切る神田川の開削により流路が断たれたと記載されている。河川であったが下流域は水路として残されたと考えてよさそうだ。南にある日本橋川から水路が掘られ、この辺りで留まっていたので堀留かと思っていたが、それは間違いであった。
Horidome children's park is a place where Higashi-horidome river has been reclaimed in the rubble after the war. At the map of the Edo period in 1850, the northern end was a place where there is the Nihonbashi fire department Horidome branch naw. According to Wikipedia, previously Higashi-oridome River have connected to Shinobazunoike, it is described as a flow path is interrupted by digging Kanda River across it. Downstream of the river has been left as a waterway. I was misunderstanding that called Horidome because this area was end (dome) of the waterway (hori).
