庭の梅の木に目白がやってきた。はじめ2mくらいの至近距離で遭遇し逃げてしまったが、しばらくして戻ってきた。
Japanese White-eyes came at a plum tree in the garden. I encountered them at the very close distance of about 2 meters and flew away, but they came back after a while.

星五位（ほしごい）と言って、五位鷺（ごいさぎ）の幼鳥。
近くの真間川で餌を捕ってくるようだ。普段は首をS字に縮めているので短く見える。
It is called Hoshi-goi, young bird of Black-crowned night heron (Goi-sagi).
It will come to take the food near the Mama-River. Usually, because it has shortened the neck to the S-shaped, neck looks short.

幹にいるのが山雀（やまがら）、地面に居るのが四十雀（しじゅうから）。板室温泉で。
今年は気候のせいか、紅葉が地味であった。

Perhaps because of the climate this year, autumn leaves were sober.

あの雉鳩の雛が順調に育っている。首から下の羽毛が綺麗な模様を表してきた。

庭の松の木に雉鳩の巣があって、雛が順調に育っている。
There is a nest of turtledove in the pine trees branches in the garden, chick is steadily growing up.
親鳥が交代で雛を育てているが、どちらが雄でどちらが雌かわからない。
Their parents have brought up by turns chick, but I can not distinguish males and females.
